William Watson, MD

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Maple Leaf Orthopedics and Spine is pleased to have Dr. William Watson as a member of its staff.

Dr. Watson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who attended medical school in his home state at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, graduating with honors. After medical school, he completed an internship at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. Dr. Watson next served as Chief Resident in the Residency Program at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, where he gained a wealth of knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of Orthopedic conditions.

Before joining Maple Leaf Orthopedics, Dr. Watson oversaw a very successful General Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practice in South Dakota for 20 years. However, the mountains beckoned, and Dr. Watson, his wife, and their beloved dogs made a new home in Colorado.

Besides his office-based orthopedic practice, Dr. Watson holds Colorado state certifications to perform Independent Medical Exams and Impairment Rating. To maintain these certifications, Dr. Watson must attend an extensive training session and become re-certified every two years.

The physicians at Maple Leaf Orthopedics and Spine have come to rely upon Dr. Watson’s experience and expertise. He treats a variety of complaints, including joint arthritis, providing Synvisc and Hylagen injections, sports injuries, and fractures. In the future, he plans to hold a Runner’s Clinic.

When not working, Dr. Watson enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving, and long-distance running. He also volunteers in his local fire department.
